Finding Community in North Texas: Arriving in McKinney, Texas on July 30th at 11:29 pm, I was immediately filled with the excitement of starting a new chapter. I soon encountered the challenges of navigating the practicalities of settling in. From understanding the abundant independent school systems to registering my car and obtaining a driver's license, I found myself confronted with a whirlwind of tasks that left me feeling overwhelmed. Despite the initial hurdles, I was eager to embrace these challenges as I embarked on this new journey. After I settled, I yearned to find a sense of community and realized there was a gap that needed to be filled, and thus, New 2 North Texas was born.
